Every year, millions of Vietnamese return home to celebrate Tet, the Lunar New Year. In Vietnamese, we say (minus the accents), "Ve que an tet," which loosely translated means: return [country/home/origins/birthplace] eat tet.

I have returned home not to my own origins, but to my mother's to visit her side of the family and especially my 90 year old grandmother. In all likelihood, this will be the last time I see her.
